T-8 Days and Counting.

Can I just say how stinkin' excited I am to be posting on this blog again? THIS blog means CAMP. And CAMP is where my heart is.

I absolutely cannot wait to get this summer started. I will leave Austin on the 14th, be home for a day on the 15th and report to camp for Staff Training on the 16th. I'm working full summer this year, so I will be there until August 15th. It is going to be the GREATEST summer ever, for sure.

This summer, I wont be a counselor, which halfway bums me out, but it's totally okay because it's worth it. I will be on leadership this summer, which is super exciting. I'm what they call "Sky 2 COR" (COR for Corinthians, there is a verse that is our theme verse, but I'm not sure what this is, because I missed COR retreat...) which means that I will be over all of Sky 2 girls. I am beyond excited for this, because girls ministry is for sure where my heart is at. As COR, I get to do a lot of staff ministry to the Sky 2 girl counselors, as well as hang out/play with campers and plan/run night events and other sweet activities. Basically, I have the coolest job in the world. I will have a partner who is Sky 2 guys' COR, and I'm pretty sure him and i will make this an EPIC summer for Sky 2.

Hopefully, I will be able to update this blog a few times a week. Last summer it was a really cool way for me to keep everyone updated and have a place to write down all of the crazy and cool things that happened. (If anyone wants a recap, there's a link to Summer 09 on the sidebar.) I will be taking a break from facebook for the summer, so the best way to stay updated with me is probably through the blog. Letters and mail would be awesome, much loved and very much appreciated. My summer address is on the sidebar, as well as a link to a "contact" page that gives you more info on how to stay in touch with me.

I think that's all for now. I will spend the next week immersed in Singers end-of-semester activities (banquet, campout, etc), moving out of my apartment, goodbyes, packing and getting my heart ready for round 3 at Sky Ranch. Excited is an understatement.

...also, we have 15 staffers from UT this summer. I consider this a small (small meaning HUGE) victory, considering my first summer there were 2 of us. We have a facebook group. We've had UT staff hangouts. We're ready to face a summer full of Aggies. We made t-shirts. ..."We're Texas." (and this makes me really happy.)
