If you spent any time in an elementary school during the 90's, you will surely remember Dunkaroos and how they were a precious commodity. If you had Dunkaroos in your lunch, you were COOL and everyone wanted to trade you for them.

Recently (aka, sometime in the last year), I remembered that they used to exist, and found myself searching several HEB's for them. I was slightly bummed when I couldn't find them and essentially gave up on this piece of my childhood.

Last night, I was hanging out with the counselors from Clara's Crib after all their girls had gone to bed. We were sitting in the counselor room talking, and they busted out the snack basket. They took out a box of chocolate Teddy Grams and a container of icing. They mentioned that they too, had searched for Dunkaroos, and they too had been unable to find them, so they decided to buy Teddy Grams and icing instead.

I instantly was mad that I hadn't thought of this. OF COURSE they would, because that is exactly what Dunkaroos are. Let me tell you, we feasted on makeshift Dunkaroos and I was HAPPY. Next time I go to the store, you know what I'm buying.

So, for all of you guys that have been missing Dunkaroos in your life, go ahead and go buy some Teddy Grams and icing. The combo will not disappoint.
